Weekly Scottish Country Dance Classes

Dates of Classes, Spring 2010

There are days when the halls are unavailable and then there are no classes as follows:
Tuesdays 16th February or 6th April or 13th April
Fridays 2nd April or 11th June.

Special Beginners' Classes January-March 2010

Our special beginners' classes run from January to March. Come and learn to dance with skill and confidence so you can enjoy the local Scottish country dances and balls. To find out more, visit our Learntodance page or email or phone 01903 783053.

Friday classes in Hove

Now at the Community Hall next to St Peter's Church West Blatchington BN3 7LQ, on the corner of Hangleton Road and Holmes Avenue. Buses 5B from Patcham and 27A from Saltdean stop nearby.

  • 7:30 to 9:15 - for beginners, improvers and intermediates - the class starts with with lessons in technique and formations with some easy dancing.
  • 9:00 to 10:15 - by invitation only - after a short tea break the formations, techniques and dances will be more complex.
  • The second part of the evening may include teaching for the RSCDS Dancing Proficiency Test.

Mixed, social class in Saltdean

For dancers who know formations and like "gentle dancing". At Saltdean County Primary School, Chiltington Way, Saltdean, BN2 8HB.

Tuesdays 7:30 - 9:30 pm

Children's country dance class

Fridays 6:15 - 7:30 pm

Fees

For members of RSCDS, under-16s and 16-25s in full-time education, the weekly fee is only £3 per evening. You can get 20% off this price (to the nearest 50p) if you pay termly in advance.

Adult non-members pay £4 per evening.

Annual branch membership costs £17, including membership of the world-wide RSCDS or "HQ". Please use the A5 application form and pay Ray before June if you can, otherwise please hand the form and money to the teacher at the first weekly class you attend.
