summer ball 2010 Wee Ball, 20 November, 7pm

The Wee Ball was held at the Brighton & Hove Girls' High School, dancing to Craigievar. Tickets £10, bring-a-plate - see Programme.

2010 Strawberry Tea Dance, 19 June, 7pm

An informal dance, suitable for beginners and children, with recorded music and a strawberry tea at the Community Hall attached to St Peter's Church, West Blatchington BN3 7LQ. Tickets £5 (children pay £3) at the door. Programme available.

2010 Annual General Meeting, Friday 14 May 2010

At the Community Hall attached to St Peter's Church, West Blatchington, followed by social dancing.

2010 Valentine's Dance, 20 February, 7pm

An informal dance with recorded music, raising funds for the Pat Harvey Memorial Scholarship. Held at the Brighton & Hove Girls High School, BN1 3AT. Tickets £5 (£3 children & students) on the door, bring a plate of food.

Beginners' course in Scottish country dancing, January-March 2010

At this special course, beginners learned jigs, reels and strathspeys and the basic formations, which gives them skill and confidence to enjoy the local Scottish country dances and balls.

2009 Autumn Ball at Hove Town Hall, 24 October, 6:30 for 7pm,

dancing at a ball We danced this Programme to the music of Craigievar. Kathy and Rod were our MCs. This was to be our last time at Hove Town Hall.

Tickets only £18 (£10 for non-dancers and juniors) including a welcome drink at 6:30 and dinner at 7pm.

2009 Summer demonstrations and public events

The branch contributed Scottish county and highland dance demonstrations at Cooksbridge and at the Poets' Corner festival. These were well received and we were pleased when some onlookers joined in with some of the dancers.

2009 Strawberry dance

The Branch could not run the dance this year, but Carol and Natalie kindly stepped in to run a strawberry dance on 20 June.

2009 Valentine's Dance, 21st February

Dance to music played by Green Ginger at the Brighton & Hove Girls High School, BN1 3AT.
Tickets £10 in advance, MC Rodney Burrows, see Valentine's Dance Programme.
The raffle raised funds for the Pat Harvey Memorial Scholarship.

2008 Beginners' Wee Ball, Saturday 15 November

2008 Start of Season dance, Saturday 13 September, 7pm

At Balfour Junior School, Balfour Road BN1 6NE. Entrance £3 includes hot drinks and biscuits in the interval. MC Rodney Burrows - see the programme - dances recapped, all dancers welcome.

Jig around for just £1 - Taster evenings of Scottish Country Dancing, 7:30

On Tuesday 9 September 2008, join the Saltdean social dance group at Saltdean County Primary School. Or on Thursday 11 September join the Hove Beginners' class at the Ventnor Hall... You can just turn up at 7:30, or contact [us] for more information.

2008 Summer Ball - Saturday 21st June, 6:30 for 7pm

2008 Pat Harvey Fund-raising Dance - Saturday 16 February, 7pm

At St George's Hall, Court Farm Road, Hove. MCs Rodney Burrows & Ray Archer, see Programme. Tickets £4 on the door, bring a plate of food to share, wear kilts or smart trousers and dresses.

2007 Christmas Ceilidh, December

At Ventnor Hall, Central United Reformed Church, BN3 3YF Dances will be easy and fun, MC Rodney Burrows. Brush up and bring a party piece if you have one, this is "chiefly yourselves!"

2007 Wee Ball, 17 November, 7pm

Dancing in kilt & black tie or ball dresses to the Green Ginger band, MCs Rodney Burrows & Kathy Lawmon at Brighton & Hove Girls High School BN1 3AT. Tickets £10 in advance, includes buffet etc. See Programme. Suitable for beginners.

For fitness, fun and friendship, everyone is welcome to join us at one of our free trial evenings at
