A Walk from Upper Dicker to Arlington via the reservoir

Saturday 1st July 2006

Janet Elizabeth

Come to Travelling Folk's Song and Ale weekend at Upper Dicker, East Sussex, and as before you can join in the walk on Saturday morning at about a quarter to ten.

As it's really hot this year, I have a feeling we will cut the journey short and miss out the walk round the reservoir. We'll still be able to enjoy the Cuckmere though.

We leave Upper Dicker via the broad WealdWay footpath just south of the The Plough, enjoying the views down to Sessingham Bridge over the Cuckmere. After circling Arlington Reservoir and passing ancient Arlington village, for the sake of speed we'll return the way we came. That way we'll get back in time to join the lunchtime sing in Upper Dicker village hall. Hardly any bits with brambles and stinging nettles, only when we cross streams; if it rains the two sections of muddy path can easily be avoided. Come with us and see all these views...
