Weekly Scottish country dance classes for adults and children. Learn to dance with RSCDS Brighton in Brighton and Hove or Saltdean, East Sussex.

Term Dates

Tuesdays
Summer: from April 17th to May 22nd.
Autumn: from September 11th to December 18th (half term October 30th)
Spring 2013: January 8th to March 26th (half term February 19th)
Summer: April 16th - May 21st.

Friday Class
2012 Friday classes are from 6th January to 15th June, but not 6th April (Good Friday).
We hope to start dancing again in the Autumn on September 7th.

Friday country dance classes at St Peter's, West Blatchington

West Blatchington Windmill Learn Scottish country dance on Fridays at the Community Hall next to St Peter's Church West Blatchington BN3 7LQ, on the corner of Hangleton Road and Holmes Avenue by West Blatchington Windmill. Bus 5B and 14C stop nearby.

  • 7:30 to 8:45 - for beginners and improvers - the class starts with lessons in Scottish dance technique and formations with some easy dancing.
    We also welcome children aged 10-16 if you are accompanied by an adult who will dance with you as your partner.
  • 9:00 to 10:15 - by invitation only - after a short tea break we will study more complex dance formations, techniques and dances.
  • By arrangement, the last part of the evening may include teaching for the RSCDS Dancing Proficiency Test.

Come and join our informal Scottish country dance group at Saltdean County Primary School, Chiltington Way, Saltdean, BN2 8HB.

  • 7:30 - 9:30 pm - for dancers who know formations and like "gentle dancing".

Fees

£3 per evening for RSCDS members*, children under 16 and 16-25s in full-time education. You can pay termly in advance to get 20% off this price (to the nearest 50p).

£4 per evening for adult non-members.

* RSCDS Brighton Branch membership costs £17 annually, including membership of the world-wide RSCDS or "HQ". You can now download the membership application form (for printing on A4 Landscape).
