Come and learn Scottish highland dance at our weekly highland dance classes for adults and children, run by RSCDS Brighton in Brighton and Hove, Sussex.

Highland dancing - which includes sword dancing - is quite strenuous and requires you to be fit and agile.

Dates and times 2012

Fridays 7:15 - 9:00

Spring & Summer: from January 6th to June 15th.
No class on 6th April (Good Friday).
Autumn: from September 7th.

About the classes

Our Friday highland dance classes are open to adults as well as children aged 6-16.

We teach at all levels of proficiency. If you want to work towards gaining test medals, we can train you for the UK Alliance examinations (United Kindom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing) as our teacher is UKA qualified.

For children, our highland dance classes are a chance to enjoy dancing in a friendly, non pushy, atmosphere with their friends from different school and of all ages. Why not give it a try?

Getting there

All highland classes are held in the meeting room at the Community Hall attached to St Peter's Church (West Blatchington), Hangleton Road BN3 7LQ, on the corner of Hangleton Road and Holmes Avenue just north of Blatchington Windmill in Hove. Bus 5B and 14C stop nearby.

Fees

RSCDS dancers dancing the highland fling on Brighton seafront, by Helen Sandwell £3 per evening for RSCDS members*, children under 16 and 16-25s in full-time education. You can pay termly in advance to get 20% off this price (to the nearest 50p).

£4 per evening for adult non-members.

* RSCDS Brighton Branch membership costs £17 annually, including membership of the world-wide RSCDS or "HQ". You can now download the membership application form (for printing on A4 Landscape).
